MA – Simulation of the airborne noise emission of electric drivetrains

The calculation of the vibro-acoustic noise emission of complex structures is – especially in the field of e-mobility – on the one hand urgently required for the system design, but on the other hand extremely computing time and resource-intensive when using classic discretization methods such as FEM or BEM.

The aim of this master’s thesis is therefore to evaluate alternative modelling and calculation approaches with regard to their applicability to the noise emission of electric powertrains. Possible approaches should first be identified through literature research and then applied to simple benchmark structures. The favored solution shall then be applied to calculate the noise emission of an electric drivetrain.
