MA – Control strategy and protection of an industrial DC microgrid
Using the example of an industrial DC microgrid, methods for grid control, like e.g. droop control, shall be investigated, and fault analyses shall be conducted. To achieve this, the grid architecture must be set up in MATLAB / Simulink, and the model elements need to be parameterized. The model must be thoroughly checked for functionality and verified using selected test cases. Various types of faults in the DC grid shall be examined. Faults will be introduced in the DC grid model to explore detection and isolation methods for these faults.
A protection strategy for the grid shall be developed, whereby particular attention must be paid to personal protection issues. For this purpose, suitable protective elements and protective methods must be selected, thoroughly discussed and investigated.
