BA – Determination of welding parameters for ultrasonic welding of load connections on substrates
In the work, the possibility of ultrasonic welding of load connections on substrates (DCB/AMB) is to be investigated based on practical experiments. Based on a literature review, parameters and influencing factors such as contact pressure, frequency, welding time, etc. are to be established. Subsequently, welding tests will be conducted for various substrates, sheet thicknesses, and materials/coatings. For that a clamping mechanism must be developed to ensure uniform fixation for optimal energy input into the weld seam for subsequent experiments. The results of the welding tests will be verified using shear tests, peel tests, or ultrasonic microscopy/microsections and using DOE. Furthermore, issues such as damage to the substrate (ceramic breakage), wear/smearing of the sonotrode, precise positioning of the welding points, and temperature effects are to be investigated.
